| Our Report CardASPEN 4th GRADERS SHOW 100% PROFICIENCY ON MCA MATH AND READING TESTS!
Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments or MCAs are a measure of whether or not students show proficiency in the MN state standards. These tests are taken in the spring each year starting in 3rd grade with Math and Reading. In 5th grade, students also test in Science. The state reports back to us the percentage of students who fall into each of four categories: Does Not Meet proficiency, Progressing in proficiency, Meets proficiency, or Exceeds proficiency. Schools strive to have all their students in the Meet or Exceed categories and work to implement measures that will address the learning needs of students who fall in the Did Not Meet or Progressing categories. This year, our 3rd and 4th grade students only tested in Math and Reading. The first link below shows how they scored. The second link shows how we compare to two nearby districts.
