Why I choose to work at Aspen Academy: As soon as I was exposed to the Core Knowledge Curriculum, I was hooked! I knew that I wanted to work with this extensive, rich curriculum. I was so attracted by the idea of helping to build and grow a charter school from the ground up where my ideas could actually be incorporated and have a positive effect on the students in my classroom.
Hobbies/interests: I love to garden, cook, ride my horses, play Scrabble, and go on trips with my husband. I also greatly enjoy curling up with a good book!
Favorite author/historical figure: My favorite author is Joan Didion. I like the introspection that always follows reading her work. My favorite historical figure is Cleopatra because she took on the entire Roman Empire at a time when women were thought to be incapable of anything more than domestic pursuits.
