WELCOME TO THE ASPEN ACADEMY PTO

Current Events:

-  THANK YOU to all who attended the PTO Back to School Picnic on Tuesday, August 24th.  We had a great turnout and many families connected.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Back to School Night at Aspen from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.  Please visit the PTO table in the gym.   

- The Aspen PTO has four committees which are chaired or co-chaired by an Aspen parent:  Classroom Support - this committee focuses on efforts to enrich and support the classroom learning experience (such as organization of the phonics curriculum, MAP testing coordination, lunchroom assistance, etc.).   Special Events - this committee assists with the coordination and the planning of special events at Aspen (such as the Harvest Dance, Spring Fling, etc.).   Fundraising - this committee evaluates, plans, and organizes the fundraising opportunities for the year (we could not financially support our teachers, staff, and school without this committee!).  Communications - this committee assists with coordinating PTO meetings, updating the PTO page on the website, and general communication of PTO activities.  Please consider sharing your time and talent on a committee.   We would love to have you chair, co-chair, or join a committee for the 2010-2011 school year; every parent is invaluable to the Aspen School community and all are welcome.  If you would like to participate in a committee, please sign up at the Back to School PTO Table on August 31st or simply email Gwen Wick gwenw_@hotmail.com (please note the "_" after the w).

--Culver's Night have been planned for the 2010 - 2011 School Year.  Thanks to Stephanie Kalal for coordinating and planning these events.  They will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on September 20th, January 10th and April 18th all of which are Mondays.  When we participate in a Culver's Night, we need many volunteers to assist with serving.  If you would like to volunteer for a 30 minute slot, please contact Stephanie Kalal at stephanieck@hotmail.com.  Thank you for your time and support!

--Everyday Fundraising (General Mills Box Tops, Campbells Labels, etc.) is an easy way to support Aspen Academy.  We are going to meet our goal for this year - thank you!   Please keep clipping and sending them in for next fall's submission.  Please view these files to review how to support your school:  overview #1, overview #2 , and overview #3.

Meeting Information

All parents are welcome to attend PTO meetings.  They generally include a welcome, update from committees, and a speaker or activity.  The meeting schedule for this year is as follows:
